Biography

Phil Stacey

Singer • Songwriter • Pastor • Author • Speaker

Phil Stacey is a recording artist, worship pastor, speaker, and founder of Missions Coalition—a growing network mobilizing churches and creatives to serve their communities through music, storytelling, and mission-centered partnerships. Known for his voice, heart, and depth, Phil’s ministry bridges the worlds of worship, pastoral leadership, and creative outreach.

Born in Kentucky and raised in a pastor’s home, Phil’s life has always been shaped by music and ministry. After graduating from Lee University—where he served as student director of the Lee Singers—he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became lead vocalist for the Navy Band Southeast. In 2007, Phil gained national attention as a finalist on Season 6 of American Idol, introducing millions to his powerful voice and unshakable faith.

That moment launched a full-time music career. Phil signed with Lyric Street Records (Disney Music Group) and later with Reunion/Provident Label Group, releasing two studio albums. He’s toured internationally and performed alongside artists such as Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant, MercyMe, and Casting Crowns, sharing songs rooted in country storytelling and gospel truth.

In 2022, Phil became Worship Arts Pastor at Central Community Church in Wichita, Kansas, where he leads a 100-voice choir, full orchestra, and modern worship team. His work includes developing original music, mentoring younger artists, and creating worship experiences that draw people into a deeper encounter with God.

At the heart of Phil’s ministry is Missions Coalition, a movement that equips churches to serve both locally and globally through coordinated outreach and music-driven events. With a growing network across the U.S., the Coalition brings together artists, churches, and volunteers for community impact, prayer, and gospel proclamation.

Phil holds a Master of Divinity from Anderson University School of Theology and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Asbury Theological Seminary. His academic journey has shaped how he approaches leadership and discipleship—balancing theological depth with practical strategies for church growth and community engagement.

He is also the author of Made to Worship (Tyndale House), a deeply personal book that traces his journey of discovering his identity and calling as a worshipper. Written with honesty and hope, the book invites readers to reflect on their own purpose and passion for God, making it part memoir and part spiritual reflection.

As a speaker and contributor, Phil has been featured in USA Today, the Chicago Tribune, the Florida Times-Union, and other major media outlets. Whether writing about worship, culture, or the challenges of leadership, Phil speaks with a pastoral heart and a prophetic voice—always aiming to build bridges, offer hope, and point people to Jesus.

Phil and his wife, Kendra, have been married for more than 25 years. They have two daughters, Chloe and McKayla, both gifted artists and worshippers in their own right. The Stacey family continues to serve together in ministry, united by their love for Jesus, people, and the power of music to tell the story of redemption.

Whether on a stage, in a sanctuary, or behind a pen, Phil’s calling is clear: to help people live with purpose, worship in spirit and truth, and join God’s mission in the world.
